Norwell High School kicks of this year’s arts season with three concerts – two from our students and one from a visiting ensemble!
First, on Wednesday, October 17 at 7pm, NHS hosts the Tufts Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Norwell beginning band teacher John McCann, in its Family and Children’s Concert Series performance featuring the music of Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. This show is aimed primarily at younger students and their families, but is open to people of all ages from throughout the community.
Then, on Thursday, October 18 at 7pm, the NHS Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band take to the stage for their first performance of the year, featuring music from around the globe, including composers from the United States, the Czech Republic, Germany, Russia and Japan.
Finally, on Tuesday, October 23 at 7pm, the NHS Chorus, Jazz Workshop and Jazz Ensemble perform for the first time this year, with their usual mix of music from the Renaissance all the way up to the present day.
All three shows are free of charge and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
